10 Peshawar policemen test positive for coronavirus

At least 10 police officers in Peshawar have tested positive for coronavirus, a senior police official confirmed Wednesday.

All the affected policemen have been placed in quarantine, SSP Operations Zahoor Afridi told SAMAA TV.

The police official said that the policemen will be tested again for coronavirus in a few days. He added that the number of infections in policemen was less than the officials were expecting.

The virus has so far killed at least 267 people in Khyber Pakhunkhwa and the number of known cases has reached 5,021, according to provincial health department.

In the country, the total number of infections has jumped to 35,067 and the death toll stands at 749.
